Hope

  1. "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed." (1 Peter 1:13).
  2. "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." (Heb 10:23).
  3. "Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him: 'So shall your offspring be." (Rom 4:18).
  4. "(And for this we labour and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, and especially of those who believe." (1 Tim 4:18).

Love

  1. "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father and I too will love him and show myself to him." (John 14:21)
  2. "...and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." (Eph 5:2).
  3. "And this is ask that we love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love." (2 John 6).

Protection

  1. "He will not let your foot slip- he who watches over you will not slumber." (Ps 121:3).
  2. "Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth." (Ps 63:7-9).
  3. "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and for evermore." (Ps 125).
  4. "I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you, declares the Lord." (Jer 15:20).
  5. "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead." (Is 43:2-3).

Sorrow

  1. "Yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." (2 Cor 7:9-10).
  2. "Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow." (Jer 31:13).

Strength

  1. "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." (2 Cor 4:7).
  2. "And now the Lord says- he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honoured in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength" (Is 49:5).
  3. "But he said to me 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. " Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." (2 Cor 12:9).
  4. "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." (Jer 31:25).
  5. "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." (2 Chron 15:7).
