New Chairman of the Radio Pulpit Board

Reverend Hermy Damons, the new Chairman of the Radio Pulpit Board, met with our personnel this morning and brought a special message of encouragement.

More about Rev Damons

Rev Hermy Damons formerly hails from the Eastern Cape town of Port Elizabeth. He is an ordained minister within the International Federation of Christian Churches (IFCC), having previously served as a senior associate Pastor at Rhema Bible Church, Randburg, from 1997 – 2008.

He currently serves as the chairperson of the National Chaplaincy Board for the Security Services, Defence Force, Police and Correctional Services, and a member of the National Task Team for Spiritual Crime Intervention for the South African Police Service.

Rev Damons is a national executive committee member of the Evangelical Alliance of South Africa (TEASA), having previously served as its Vice president for one term. He also works closely with the South African Council of Churches. In addition, he has a long-standing relationship with and has served as the official representative of the IFCC at the council for several years.

Rev Damons currently serves as the Director for Ecumenical relations within the Association of Christian Religious Practitioners, ACRP; the SAQA registered professional body for Christian ministers.
 
In addition to his directorship at Radio Pulpit, he previously served as a director on the boards of Operation Hunger and Rhema Social Services and the Johannesburg Inner City Partnership.

He is married to his wife of 23 years, Prema, and they have been blessed with two sons, Kyle, 20 and Christopher, 19.

The Radio Pulpit family is excited and honoured to have Rev Damons as the new Chairman of our Board. We pray God’s blessings upon him and his family.

Radio Pulpit also recently appointed Reverend Karel Verhoef as the new CEO.
