Power Inspiration: The Word for Today Devotional

Written by on 16 December 2020

Christians today face unique challenges, and The Word for Today devotional on Radio Pulpit is a tool to help us to remain anchored in Christ.

It was created by Bob Gass, an Irish pastor and published in April 1994 by the United Christian Broadcasters (UCB).

A kick start for cold mornings, when you don’t feel like reading your Bible or find it a bit dry, that’s when you need a good injection of inspiration. That’s what I want to provide for our readers, something to focus their minds on God’s goodness.

Timeless in its value to encourage & empower

The Gutenberg bible from the mid-15th century is generally acknowledged as the first printed bible. Today, 21 Century Christians still turn to the Word of God for guidance, daily inspiration, and knowledge about our Saviour.

On 22 March 2007, David Biema wrote in Time Magazine.

Simply put, the Bible is the most influential book of all-time… The Bible has done more to shape literature, history, entertainment, and culture than any book ever written. Its influence on world history is unparalleled, and shows no signs of abating. Even pop culture is deeply influenced by the Bible.

With The Word for Today, we take a theme and elaborate on it with scriptures, Christian perspective and deeper insight. We hope to encourage readers to grow in their spiritual walk with Christ by offering practical and relevant truths.

Soul food for every audience

The Word for Today devotional is also available in three formats, each tailored for a specific audience.

You can sign up for any of the above categories for free.

The themes provide a Christian perspective and impart wisdom. We cover a wide range of topics; these include financial issues, emotional well-being, tools for your journey, and lots more. Examples of typical topics:

  • Jesus revealed to us
  • Keys to Bible study
  • Should you invest?
  • Stop doing things that don’t work
  • Forgive and move on

We understand the demands of modern life, and we, therefore, keep the devotionals short yet with enough depth to kickstart your day or end it with God as your source of strength.
